About this tool
Paste an article, essay or page copy to see a ranked list of the most frequently used words. Optionally hide common stop words (the, a, and…) so the meaningful terms stand out. Writers use it to catch overused words; SEOs use it to sanity-check keyword density.

- 2Optionally enable "hide common words" to filter out stop words.
- 3Read the ranked table of words with their counts and percentage share.
Frequently asked questions
What are stop words?
Stop words are very common words such as "the", "and" or "of" that usually carry little meaning. Filtering them highlights the words that define your content.
How is keyword density calculated?
Density is a word’s count divided by the total number of words, shown as a percentage.
Is punctuation counted as part of words?
No. Punctuation is stripped so that "word," and "word" are counted as the same word.
